Miss World 2010 Derana Miss Sri Lanka for Miss World (for the year 2010) got under way at the Mount Lavinia hotel last week with the initial selection round. This is the 4th successive year that Derana organizing this prestigious pageant. The winner will have the honor of represent Sri Lanka at the Miss World Pageant which will be held in Vietnam later this year. Out of thousand potential applicants, 12 beauties were selected for the final round. These girls will under go a series of grooming sessions and will be contesting for several mini pageants on the way to the finals. The finals is scheduled ton be held in mid august. All build up programmes will be showcased on TV Derana on Sundays at 6.00 to 7.00pm. The programmes will be hosted by the popular actor Saranga Disasekara & Yuwani Perera. Trerin Gabbalage, Michael Wijesuriya, Rozan Diasz & Ramzi Ramahen had the gigantic task of selecting the best contestants for the final round from these beauties.
