Mobitel was awarded The title of 'Best in Customer Service' in the Telecommunication category following an independent survey by TNS Lanka.The survey had been carried out island-wide to rate the 'best of the best'. The final services scorecard was captured in 'LIVING' magazine (May – June 2010) page 88 - 93.
The pollsters scoured the country, covering both urban and rural sectors, to compile a shortlist of the top 20 service providers in Sri Lanka – in terms of how well they treat their customers. This survey had covered a sample of 850 people from a cross section of both gender socio-economic strata in 17 districts (excluding the north and east).
The Top Six establishments which were rated as superior in providing customer services are:
1) CARGILLS FOOD CITY
2) MOBITEL
3) PEOPLE'S BANK
4) SINGER
5) BANK OF CEYLON
6) DIALOG TELECOM
The following were the reasons for Mobitel's consideration as Number 2 in the list based on the research.
1) Provides a cost effective service
2) Makes an effort to offer island wide coverage
3) Helpful customer hotline
4) New and cost effective packages
While the research indicates customers described Mobitel as BEAUTIFUL, CLEAR and TALENTED service provider.
