COMMONWEALTH HEADS OF GOVERNMENT MEETING (CHOGM)

15^TH NOVEMBER 2013

 

We have received many inquiries from members as to whether 15^th November has been declared a "holiday" by the government in view of CHOGM being held in Colombo.

 

The Commissioner General of Labour informed me that 15^th November has not been declared a holiday even for the public and banking sectors. In other words, it will be another working day.

 

However, depending on the location of your office/enterprise/factory, you may have to make your own decisions as to whether you wish to operate as usual on that day. This is a matter that each individual work place will need to decide on, depending on the circumstances.
