‘Siyatha’ comes under petrol bomb attack

The local TV and Radio channel ‘Siyatha’ office in Union Place has come under a petrol bomb attack, Police said. Two persons have been injured and hospitalized. Three police teams have been deployed to nab the attackers.
An armed gang was involved in the attack which caused extensive damage to the building. According to an employee of the network the armed gang had forced the employees to kneel down and later assaulted two of them.
They later threw petrol bombs inside the office causing the fire which was later doused by the fire brigade. Police teams have been deployed to investigate the incident. - Mervin Silva
