look Nizam Laxan was the user name used by Marketwatch in Investnow waay back in the beginning (before the BFL posts started), he changed the name to Marketwatch when his consistent posts started.

 appreciate if somebody can explain whether it is OK to invest in currencies rather than trading.

There are some options instead of trading currencies:

Invest in stocks related to food. Agriculture.
Invest in interest free banks
Invest in infrastructure stocks
Avoid gambling, tobacco and other anti society stocks.
However, it is better to study very well before start anything. Because there are different types of market players: Such as speculators, manipulators, inside traders etc.

Always invest in undervalued stock and assets needed for living
