Hi ,
The training coordinator at University of Moratuwa IT Faculty informed us that 55% of their entire batch want to do six months industrial training at infosoft in 2012.
According to her Virtusa received the most preferences and infosoft was 3rd behind IFS in 2011.
It is extremely pleasing for us to know that our style of management and company ethics are valued and embraced by most young engineering students at one of the finest Universities in this part of the world.
Being a small company it is easier for us to communicate directly and teach them the value of hard work, equality, decency, team work, responsibilities etc. In addition to software development our IT Engineers occasionally clean rubbish bins, help us with photocopying, and sometimes even make tea for others including help staff. From the very beginning we drummed it into them that as a company we want their contributions, not qualifications or schools they attended or who their parents are. I wanted my (trainee) staff members to be 21 year old working MEN and WOMEN, not mother's boy and father's girl remotely controlled by them.
To know that students actually like this culture without stupid ego we tend to inherit is very pleasing. I thought of sharing this piece of information with you.
